This mystery/thriller blew me away! I did receive an E-Arc of this book last year through Net Galley, but I did not get around to reading it until this year, and boy am I sorry that it took me so long to pick up! This story follows Claire after she is found alone in the woods with a severe head injury, and no memory of the last 36 hours. She was supposed to be staying at her best friend's grandmother's cabin with her best friend, Kat, and Kat's boyfriend and Claire's former crush, Jesse. The trio decided to ditch prom and have a weekend bounding, just the three of them before they all head to college and everything changes. Now Kat and Jesse are missing without a trace, and Claire cannot remember how she even got to the woods.
This story is told in dual timelines, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I really liked seeing how the details of the past became relevant to the crime that was committed in the present. This book is filled with twists and turns, most of which I did not see coming. There is a final twist revealed at the very end that will be very polarizing for readers, and personally I thought it did not add enough to the story to need to be included. However, it did not hinder my enjoyment of the overall story. I do wish we got to see a little bit more after the resolution, so I could feel more closure with the characters. Overall, this is an AMAZING novel and I infinitely recommend!
