Guys, this is seriously good covid-19 literary fiction; a brand new genre! I didn’t think I would be up for reading about lockdown when it’s still so raw, but after reading Burntcoat, I realised it’s actually quite cathartic. I recognise that this won’t be the same for everyone, but I really enjoyed this.
It’s ultimately quite a sad little book, but Moss is a genius so it’s all handled beautifully.
If you enjoyed SUMMERWATER, then you’ll really like this as well.
