Thieves' Gambit by Kayvion Lewis
4.0

Thieves Gambit is a fun YA thriller following young master thieves. For fans of heists and con artists, this book is a great one. Our protagonist Ross enters into a cutthroat competition of multiple stages of thieving, deceiving and doing whatever it takes to win. It is fast paced and high stakes, making it a lot of fun to read. Like any good con story, each job includes twists that are hinted at but keep you guessing until it's finally revealed how they pull it off.

The characters were nuanced and likeable, particularly Ross. She grew up in a notorious family of thieves, manipulated and isolated, which makes it hard for her to trust her fellow thieves and form friendships for the first time. The ending comes in a dramatic rush. Events are wrapped up nicely, but it hints at so much more to come and I would really enjoy returning to this world to see what happens next in Ross' life.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
