🧠 Review
This was my first foray into dark hockey romance and, despite knowing zilch about the sport, I was hooked by the “Circle of Trust” banter between Logan and his teammates. Logan is deliciously morally grey—if you met him in real life, alarms would be screaming—yet his possessive jealousy streak feels oddly romantic here. Sloane is properly broken, working as an escort to survive, and while I sometimes wished she’d find more backbone, her vulnerability suits the story.
Their relationship is messy and far from healthy, but it works as fantasy. Logan’s dark past and Sloane’s trauma collide in some intense scenes that left me breathless. This one stands alone perfectly, and I’m keen to try more of C.R. Jane’s men-of-red-flags romances as I wade deeper into dark romance.
