An extremely slow, mostly boring read. The good parts (the battles, and almost anything with Jaume) were engaging and the pages flew by - but for the most part, everything else dragged on, largely due to the bilingual aspect of this book. If you don't speak Spanish, prepare to be lost in the sea of words thrown at you including ranks, descriptions, titles, and sometimes full sentences (these, at least, tend to have English translations). Few and far between dinosaur battles were full of dinosaur nicknames that were confusing at first but eventually became familiar, but also great detail and lots of action. There's a lot of political plotting going on, but since half of it is in another language, it's lost on me.

In short, definitely not what I expected/dreamed it would be.
