Really a wonderful book. I loved watching the journey Elma went on; seeing her fight for what she wants and also come to understand herself better. I'd love perspectives from some of the other girls, especially when exploring the topic of race, but this is really Elma's story. Half a star off for the occassional, absolutely cringe-worth innuendo.
