An interesting look at an English man's ideas about a perfect society from over 500 years ago.
A lot of stuff is good and timely! The rest could be him only knowing the socioeconomic framework of the era in which he lives and writings of the Roman empire et al. and deciding that society and international relations must be like this always.
It can be contradictory at times (i.e., "everyone is equal" except
there are still slaves
and "we value all human lives" unless
you're terminally I'll and unhappy to die
), but it's a nice to know people in the West thought some similar things at least at this time.
