A 9 yo brown girl with some of the most literal-minded thinking I've ever heard of decides to make friends with a new kid in class, a refugee from Syria. In an increasingly improbable adventure, she and her friends draw a lot of attention and there's an unexpectedly well-received trip to the Queen. Also features a single mom and the banishing of (some) bigots, as well as bullies who get soundly beat up.
Moderate: Racism, Child death, War, and Racial slurs
Minor: Death of parent
