A Chinese Reading of the Daodejing: Wang Bi's Commentary on the Laozi with Critical Text and Translation by Rudolf G. Wagner

3.0

It is insanely frustrating to me that the version of the Dao De Jing text we currently have available is not the same version Wang Bi had before him when writing his commentary. That's like trying to reconstruct a Sappho poem with only the opinion of Catullus, or something. And I'm not even in this subset of the field of translation studies! My interest in classical Chinese translation is purely secular!
