The Way of the Househusband, Vol. 1 by Kousuke Oono

5.0

I received an ARC of this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Once upon a time, Tatsu was known as the Immortal Dragon, the most feared Yakuza boss in all of Japan.

Now?

He will cut you down for the best bargain so he can continue to make the most kawaii of bento boxes.

Tatsu is now living his happiest life as a househusband while his wife, Miku, is a designer and careerwoman; they are happily married and share an apartment, have a cat named Gin, and Tatsu does his best to keep the household running smoothly.

His methods are just, well, a little unorthodox.

This brilliant first volume in the popular "The Way of the Househusband" manga will make readers laugh as Tatsu takes on ordinary household tasks and scenarios with his own unique twist. Along the way, old gang members try to figure out what his long game is. What brooding thoughts are going on behind those big dark sunglasses and scowling expression? (Really, he's just debating on whether to do pork or chicken for dinner. Depends on what coupons are available at the grocery store.)

Needless to say, there are shenanigans ahead.
