The Bands of Mourning by Brandon Sanderson

4.75

4.75 stars* because the ending had me screaming. What in the actual ever-loving
fuck
?! I'm . . . I'm too stunned to write out any of the points I had about the rest of the book. The characters somehow become more like caricatures the further we go, yet more lovable by the page. Epic adventure, grand romance, and by (almost) the end, there's the feeling of puzzle pieces coming masterfully together—only to have the surface on which the puzzle is resting to be blown apart (things do tend to explode around Wax, after all).

*It would be 5, but it's docked a bit because I'm still not loving the way he writes women or Wayne's creepy fetishism of WLW.
