Roxana by Daniel Defoe

I can never resist a book about a strong woman doing what she pleases and spitting in the face of society. She's ruthless, generally heartless, vain, and obstinate. Doesn't get much more interesting than that! She's a great example of the unreliable narrator, and though sometimes the writing is difficult to wade through, it's totally worth the effort.
