Jhumpa Lahiri is a great author. This is her first published collection, which is comprised of a series of short stories. The stories largely chronicle the Indian-American experience both within the United States and as some of the characters return to India. Not only are the stories interesting, but I also feel like they enlighten with authentic cultural details. A must read; one of the greatest short story collections, period.
