Preferential Treatment by Heather Guerre
4.0

This one is a sugar baby in the office (billionaire) kind of romance with a submissive man who doesn't believe in love.
(I like angsty office romances, even if in this one they are never at the office)

I COMPLAIN A LOT BUT THIS IS STILL A GOOD ONE

So...do I like submissive men and dominant women? Not really. I don't hate but it does not do it for me.
Did I love the relationship/dynamic? It was fun but a bit too distant, I wasn't able to fully empathise with the characters and that was all the writing's fault. It didn't give me enough to feel close to them (and I don't feel like it can be improved by the author. She has created well developed characters, I simply don't connect deeply to her writing).

Nonetheless I think I'm going to read many other books by this author. Even if I complained a lot about I find her writing very compelling, pleasant and easy to read and I truly appreciate that she depicts different stories (different kinks) and excpecially people who had a rough beginning.

I am eagerly waiting for the book with the heroine's sistes.

Could this be a new read all her books' author? It could be. We shall se.
However my not being attached to the love story is never going to make me her a favourite.
I like her novels more in an intellectual way rather than an emotional one.

This is a mix of contemporary bdsm and gritty reality. You might like it of you enjoy Cate C wells
