The Elegant Universe: Superstrings, Hidden Dimensions, and the Quest for the Ultimate Theory by Brian Greene
5.0
This book felt way out of my league. Brian Greene's enthusiasm is contagious though.
I decided to listen to this book on audio as I have been contemplating my place in the cosmos more recently and also, many friends have read this and recommended it.
This all felt a bit overwhelming to me and I had to keep going back to listen to things over and over. It felt like one needed a background in physics or math to really grasp his concepts.
I have started the three part mini-series on PBS, if you are a beginner and interested in String Theory, and I highly recommend it thus far. It is three hours long and I am getting a better overview and understanding visually. I gave the book five stars because everyone I respect did and I know he has written something special here. I am just not sure I was qualified to start here.
