Oblomov by Ivan Goncharov
3.0

I'm completely ambivalent about this book. On one hand I loved it. The absurdity of the whole situation can be very confronting and makes you think. It even makes you laugh. What is brilliant is that Oblomow's life is so absurd that you keep thinking no one could ever be like this in real life. Or could they? Is it really that absurd?
But on the other hand I almost hated the book. I could get so frustrated while reading it. Gontsjarov is really taking his time to tell this story. And some of the characters are such idiots. I just wanted to crawl into the book and slap them in the face.
But overall it was a good book and I could recommend it. I suppose it's a good thing books can get you frustrated.
