The Consequence by Giana Darling

I absolutely HATED this series.

Honestly, romanticizing cheating and then having Elena's family side/support the dirt-bag cheating sister because Elena was *gasp* mean to Elle once she learned of the affair?? What was Elena supposed to do? Smile and wish them well? After being hurt so terribly? Fuck that.

Their behavior and most of the family's easy acceptance of it (which ostracized Elena -- whether intentional or not) was beyond despicable. Also, trying to make Elena into a villain to justify Elle and Daniel's relationship was awful. She was the victim in this book, and while cold at times, she was the innocent party who did nothing wrong.

Read 'When Heros Fall'. It's way better and shows you the truth depth of Elena's character and everything she's dealt with. After reading Elena's series, Elle and Daniel's story was just awful. Absolute garbage about two selfish, despicable people, that only made me angry.

Daniel is a piece of shit and I'm so glad Elena ended up with someone deserving of her.

Because let's be real, Elena deserved so much better. The extended epilogue was stupid. If I were Elena, I'd never forgive Elle and Daniel. Sorry, they are both horrible people, and you don't get a free pass just because you're family.

Daniel had a responsibility to break things off with Elena before having the affair. And once they both learned Elle was Elena's sister, they continued to cheat. Not to mention the birth control incident which led to Elle getting pregnant, Daniel leading Elena on for years about marriage and a baby, only to do both things with Elle only months after meeting?

No thank you.

God I wish I could get back the hours I wasted on this series.
