Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire

I found this book to be a quick read.

It strongly reminded me of Emma Bull's "War for the Oaks" universe, where fae creatures are rubbing elbows with today's world, and Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson Series, where the main protagonist is a no-nonsense slightly gritty female. Since I enjoyed both of these novels, the book was a pleasant read. I am definitely going to put more of the series in my "to read" list.

While I found it easy, I would classify this book as more of a "page turner" than a "beach book". Why the difference? I actually cared about what was going on in the plot line, and I found it hard to put down. 346 pages.
