The Dark Prophecy
by Rick Riordan
This is really more like three and a half. I liked it more than book 1. I'm looking forward to book 3. But if Riordan really wants me to start actually liking Apollo, rather than just thinking he's hilarious but terrible, he should spend more time feeling bad about how he's treated his kids and less time thinking fondly about his past as a horny jerk. We all know the Greek Gods can't keep it in their pants (exceptions include only lady gods, because everything has always been sexist). But learning more about Apollo's romantic past (and all the wishful thinking he does about wanting a romantic present) are not gonna endear him to me. I really did enjoy the book, but seriously, every time he talked about romance, or how hot someone was, I was like, "Ugh, you're the worst! Start trying to make it up to your kids!"
