I just finished Carla Kelly's story which begins this compilation, and I am setting the book aside for now. Because there is a feeling about it, something unique to Kelly's stories, that just gets to me. Reading on now, any other story by any other author no matter how good, would just feel like dross.
"He lay there...wondering how pleasant it would be to do nothing more than share a pillow with her. All the man-and-woman thing aside, how pleasant to chat with her in a dark room, talk over a day, plan for the next one."
So many romances these days, with their emphasis on lust or billionaire's bank accounts, are missing the point entirely I think.
