Read this book!
The Imrati Trials is one of my favorite books I have read this year. I absolutely ate it up!
Humans, royalty, mythical creatures, elves, and dragons it's got a bit of everything.
The characters are so endearing, I just love the FMC. Nyah is funny, and badass with also a sweet naivety to her. Hello, new book boyfriend Rivven. He's the morally righteous shadow daddy I didn't know I needed. The reluctant allies to lovers, with funny banter made to romance and spice swoon-worthy.
The magic system is so unique and really cool, I loved the inner workings and how the magic worked with different people and powers.
The trials themselves were perfect, this wasn't another rip-off Hunger Games at all. It made sense, the whole story isn't about the trials, and it worked seamlessly with the plot.
Not many books can blow me away with a twist I didn't see coming..... But, WHOA! This one got me for sure. Perfectly surprised with the unexpected plot twist that left me reeling - jaw on the floor, audible gasp gusped.
The only tiny piece that I thought could use some fine tuning was some of the exposition was a bit repetitive.
If you loved Metal Slinger, ACOTAR, or Powerless Imrati Trials is likely a good pick for you.
I cannot WAIT to read the next book
Thank you NetGalley, City Owl Press, and Lizzy Gayle for the ARC copy
