Sara Cate took me by surprise in this series. I find this series to be dark in a way that is more visceral than your regularly dark romances. The battle of morality and religion is very prominent. The FMC is my favorite. Sage is a bad ass who wears her confidence and her heart on her sleeve. Her ability to see the world for what it is but still love it makes the book so good.
Adam pisses me off a lot but I get why he was written this way. He is not supposed to have redemption, but he is chasing it. His complicated relationship with his family, himself and Sage makes him complex.
His dom side is freaking hot too.

Graphic: Homophobia, Misogyny, Toxic relationship, Violence, Religious bigotry
Moderate: Alcoholism, Gaslighting
Minor: Domestic abuse
if you are someone who has been experienced abuse in the church, or any religious trauma- please heed the trigger warnings. This series has many themes on unlearning abusive and harmful religious teachings.
