Wrath Goddess Sing

I had such high hopes for a trans retelling but sadly, this isn't it.
The translations used for names and places make this book extremely heavy. And while I understand retellings can be different (I adore myth retellings) this differences so much from the story that it only feels vaguely inspired by the Iliad in the end. (Cough, Agamemnon)
I didn't like Achilles at all. After she is transformed by the gods to be a cis woman she is very dismissive and rude to the other trans women she has gotten to know. The fact that she keeps a black trans slave is handled so poorly it made me wince.

Moderate: Transphobia
