I really loved Ozeki's For The Time Being so my expectations were high for this novel. It's not bad but about halfway through, I was ready for it to be done. It would have been stronger as a shorter novel. there are some clever things built into the story and has a fun bit about the power of books but, for me, the story could have been more tightly written.
