I didn’t realise until halfway through that this was part of a series! I wish I’d know as I’d love to have started right from the beginning. That said, the book worked just fine as a standalone.
Well paced, lots of small connections here and there to piece together. Really enjoyed it. Style of writing is easy to digest which assists with some of the heavier themes especially torture and rape.
The frequent references to piss and shit we’re jarring but think that was part of
Some of the court scenes early on were drawn out - lots of medical jargon and had to suspend belief a little that a group that tight would buy Will’s cover.
