American Gods by Neil Gaiman

This novel was incredible! I read it because I got into the show, which I got into because Ricky Whittle. What I didn't expect was one of the most interesting trip through places familiar to me (I grew up mostly in Wisconsin), but reimagined as different god's playground.

I pretty much always read and watch Sci Fi and can often anticipate plot twists, but there were a few plot twists that surprised me, which hasn't happened in a long time.

Being a dedicated atheist didn't get in the way of truly enjoying the character development and the story.

The one thing I would have liked to see would be more developed and important female characters. All the characters seemed to only push the plot points or act as a push for Shadow toward one way or the other. But that's common with most books I read, so I can't really knock it.
