"It comes to this then: there always have been people like me and always will be, and generally they have been persecuted."

I don't know what to do with my life now that I've finished this book. Seriously. 1912?? Possibly the best book with LGBT themes I'd ever laid eyes on. The development is so organic and the dialogue is so heart-wrenchingly beautiful.

A really interesting lens to the past and honestly even though things have changed this novel remains relevant today.

Would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the occasional boring chatter. But every page, every chapter ends with "now what??" Oh, Maurice. I just want to give him a big hug.
