After listening to the first book in the Filthy Rich Americans series, I was a little too invested in the drama not to see where it was headed. This series is like a much more twisted soap opera than romance, and frankly, I'm already on the ride.
Marist has been essentially sold by her fiance Royce to his father for the bargain price of $10 million of shares of the company. She feels bettayed and rightly so. Now, she's heartbroken, pissed off and out of revenge. Fortunately for her, Royce's father Macalister is happy to help. He just keeps on pushing because like it or not, he's obsessed with Marist. She challenges him and denied him his two minutes during the initiation, a move she thought would grant her and Royce a reprieve. Instead, it's fueled Macalister and he won't let her go - even if she does love his son - until he gets what he's owed.
Phew. This was a whirlwind of a read. I mean beyond messed up with the daddy connection, but a trainwreck I can't seem to look away from! 🤣 On to book three because I HAVE TO KNOW.
