Every Note Played by Lisa Genova

3.5 Stars, rounded up. Overall, a very fluid read. I enjoyed the character development and study of the relationship between Richard and Karina. Genova did a beautiful job describing such a terrifying and painful disease like ALS. Heartbreaking, but she writes it in a way that was approachable. The only reason I didn't mark it higher was that it felt overly packed with metaphors. Some of the descriptions were beautiful and would give me pause with the perfect choice of comparison. But some chapters were just metaphors stacked on top each other and felt like content fillers.
