The Surprise Party by R.L. Stine

4.0

This is my first RL Stine (I was a Christopher Pike girl as a teen). I understand why he's popular. The writing is good and the story was twisty/turny, and the ending made sense. It's difficult to not compare it to Pike's books. I feel like Stine is more down to earth and realistic, and Pike is ridiculous and outlandish-almost like Bizarro fiction light.

Overall, I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would and look forward to reading more Fear Street.
