Alien Warlord's Claim by Presley Hall

3.0

Not sure yet…

Somewhere between 2.5 and 3⭐️.

There are serious continuity issues throughout the entire book. Mostly concerning practical issues.
Such as bodily needs… not once does anyone need to relieve themselves… haha

Then there are the injuries. The MMC cleans and treats the FMC feet for injuries one night, but the next day, all mention of them or others are forgotten, including any mention of footwear. That includes being able to walk on the ground barefoot.

She falls out of a tree, supposedly hitting branches on the way down, but no mention of scratches or bruises.
Supposedly is extremely sore from a marathon bout of sex, but then rides a beast with no further mention.

This is continued throughout the whole book. Injuries occur,t hen are forgotten when they are no longer of use to the story.

The aliens have horns, a way to mark them as alien, but then are forgotten, only mentioned once. This despite repeated bout is sex. You would think she would be curious to explore. The same with his supposed numerous piercings? But these seem more to be a device to highlight his barbaric nature, alien-ness, and some sort of dangerous attraction..

It’s very frustrating as I enjoyed the ideas that were hinted at, the world that was begun, the story that could have been. But nothing was finished, nothing was fully developed, nothing was detailed out, except the sex scenes, and the descriptions of the males, but only as a device to highlight that they were either alien and unattractive, or very attractive. It was all so simplistic and shallow.

Yet, there was enough there to know, the author is capable of so much more!
Both characters were real, and distinct. You could identify each characters voice, picture them easily (even if the MMC came off as human).
Now if only the author would spend as much time on the world around them, the different culture, and realities required to flesh out a believable world.
