The 500 page sci-fi version of this where Hannah is the main character over Edie is really, really good. I wish I lived in the universe where that version exists instead of this one.
Sadly this feels like all connective tissue with no fleshing out, which means no building tension, no atmosphere, hardly any sense of place or time- I kept forgetting it was supposed to be 2am. Four of the five chronically sleep-deprived characters acted totally normal the entire time. This had the potential to be a trippy mystery and instead was very plain.

Moderate: Animal death
