Black Dahlia Avenger: A Genius for Murder by Steve Hodel, James Ellroy

3.0

This was an interesting read. I've seen a few movies about the Black Dahlia, but haven't really read much about her. I was honestly pretty confused in the beginning because it read more like the author's life story, but then the plot twist occurs. I have never seen someone so vehemently accuse their own parent of being a sadistic serial killer in my life. Honestly he does make some compelling arguments as to why his father was the Black Dahlia murderer. George Hodel was a vile person from what I gathered here. There are former cops that worked the case that also back up Steve Hodel's findings, unfortunately the whole case was a disaster and massive cover-ups took place that I don't see any official changes happening. This definitely makes me want to read more about the murder and her life.
