I was really into this book—until about halfway through. That’s where Stephen King kind of lost me. It got super dense with all the background and history on Lee Oswald. Don’t get me wrong, it was interesting, but spending two or three chapters on it felt like overkill. Half a chapter would’ve been enough for me.
That was also around where I stopped caring about a lot of the characters. There’s a part where the main character settles into a new place, and I loved that section. I wanted more of that internal struggle—the what will he choose tension—and while it showed up at the end, I was kind of over it by then.
