The Last Summer of the Death Warriors
by Francisco X. Stork
I really liked Marcelo in the real world so I had high hopes for this one but felt kind of disappointed. I'm glad that I listened to the audiobook because I am not sure if I would have been able to get through it. The narrator brought the story alive and I felt like he gave each character a life of its own although sometimes when D.Q. spoke he sounded like Buford from Phineas and Ferb and that "doctor" guy sounded like Keanu Reeves from Bill & Ted's excellent adventure.
Best character in the book: D.Q.
I think one thing that I didn't really enjoy about the book was that there were so many different story lines going on and they didn't really end up relating to each other at all.
I didn't like the ending at all, felt like I was just left hanging and I still had questions about each of the characters.
This book is definitely for a older high school student too.
