I finished MARGO’S GOT MONEY TROUBLE just moments ago, and felt I needed to race to post so I could shout my praise from the figurative social media rooftops!
The buzz around this one is so well-placed. I found it to be one of the most compulsively readable books I have read in ages. The author’s voice is clear and distinctive; it covers heavy topics, but with a gracefulness and hilarity that impressed me to my core. My favorite part: how these characters just pop! I felt like I knew and could picture them all in vivid detail, even the small side players.
I loved the layered nuance Thorpe also throws in regarding narrative, point of view, and the layers of knowing and understanding authorship.
