Early Retirement Extreme: A Philosophical and Practical Guide to Financial Independence by Jacob Lund Fisker

4.0

There are many things in here that are good - his overall point (that most of us consume far more than we need, and often far more than really makes us happy) is a very good one, and I think the biggest reason to read this book is to spend time thinking about the systemic ways in which we overconsume (and how that leads to more overconsumption). At the same time, oh my, this is written by a young, healthy, athletic, well-educated man with no dependents. There are moments where I'm like JACOB YES and then immediately moments where I'm like JACOB NO.
