Maika remains unconscious through the whole book but she and Zinn go h rough some of both their memories. Maika learns that Zinn ate her mother. Tuya is a clone and the Baroness is handed down through the blood and will take over her mind. Ren and Kippa meet up again and go into Maika’s mind to wake her, but she has tried to kill herself and now is just a head in her mental image.

Lots of backstory learned here. When I write plot out (above) it is absurd, but I am drawn in and believe while reading it. After reading this volume, I read everything else that I had access to (vol 8, 9, and the next 3 issues). Rereading them all immediately now that I’ve inhaled the story and can sit for longer with the art and story.
