I heard about this book in the Books of Horror FB group and since it won the Indie Brawl last year I couldn't wait to read it.  I can imagine putting an exorcist story in a book is difficult but Nick Roberts did an excellent job at transferring the horrors into a visceral tale.

Daniel and his family move into a historic house with dreams of fixing it up and flipping it for profit.  The house comes with a gardener who has eyes for their daughter and a dog who knows when danger is near.  As they are living in the house they each start learning about the past tenants and the very real evil living inside.

There were so many parts of the story that were so inventive.  Nick will be one of those, yeah...if he wrote it, I'm gonna read it authors.  It also helps that he seems like a super cool dude.
