The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig
3.75

This was fun ! The beginning especially was really strong. The vibe of the diviners, the drowning, the vision was good, though I wished there would be something more interesting to the omens when divining, and not just a yes/no thing. That said, Rachel Gellig is really good at setting up an atmosphere.
I enjoyed the romance and there were a bunch of really nice moments between the two. Rory is really a sweetheart. The FMC is also really good. She's believable and likable, and I loved that she was physically strong too. Her motivations were strong and it's really easy to empathize with her and understand her inner struggles.
I also liked Maude and the gargoyle as secondary characters, the gargoyle especially was hilarious and I love him.
The worldbuilding was a bit uneven ? The diviners and the abbey was nice and the atmosphere of the hamlets was good but I wish they were more fleshed-out. The
objets' powers could have been more interesting though

The plot was not the always the best. The structure of getting 5 items from different places was not amazing, though it works, and
Benji turning out bad was predictable

So I'm a bit mixed about this book. Some of it was really good and I was really into the story, especially the first 60% ; and I preferred it to One Dark Window, but it's missing something. I'm probably going to say "I say, Bartholomew" in my day to day life in the following months though.
