A dark little mermaid retelling with pirates of the Caribbean vibes .. Why have I only now found this book ?! 

A Syren being tricked by the sea witch and lived  10 years on land by being abused by someone she thought would love her , Prince Aerik  , he was cruel and she really thought she’d finally escape evil once their ship came under attack .. But soon found herself kidnapped and held hostage by the cursed pirate who endured his own pain and torment . He witnessed brutal heartache at the hands of an enemy.. the same enemy of the syren .. The sea witch, Edonia. 

Pirate Ramsey “Bones” Battista and Princess Maren had a heated , passionate and intense connection. Both held onto powerful emotions - grief , regret and hate .. Both refusing to relent ! Those were key to survival and revenge ! 

I enjoyed the banter , the attraction and tension, the love hate relationship they shared .. Nothing worse than working with the enemy when you want to kill them and eat his heart .. I loved the fierce loyalty they had for all the crew and for eachother. Ramsey was protective, obsessive and would literally die to protect Maren and that’s the love we all crave ! 

A dark romance that held my attention the whole way through , I felt every pain of each death of their crew and family , the loss of loved ones in the past and also the loss of a future they could have had before their lives were stolen .

This was my first Little Mermaid retelling and I honestly loved it !
