Angels' Blood
by Nalini Singh
Actual rating: 2.5 stars
Okay so when this book first went on my radar I was so excited because of all the wonderful reviews with the majority being 5 star reviews. So I bought the first three books (second hand) and happily put them on my TBR shelf. Anyway, this week I went camping and I thought what a wonderful opportunity to read such a well-loved paranormal romance (PNR).
The first 100 pages I was hooked! The character and world building were brilliant for a PNR and I loved the idea that angels made vampires, a new twist on the vampire pop culture! The angels intrigued me and then we met Raphael and boy, oh boy, was he sexy!
I know that you cannot expect much from a PNR when it comes to plot, a lot of it is just sexy times, and I knew this going into the book, but still I was disappointed with the lack of plot. There seemed to be a lot of talk about this Villain and yet not much happened with him and the final scene with him was such a let down.
I don't know I just found the whole book predictable, I knew where it was going from the get go and when my theories were actually what happened I was sad and even a little angry. Also, for a steamy book I expected a little more steam.
I don't know this book just didn't do it for me.
I would recommend to lovers or PNR but for the average Joe, like me, I would not recommend.
Happy reading!
