run of the mill whodunnit murder thriller, i guess - teetered between 3 and 4 but the twists did give it an edge as far as plot went. This is a significant step up from what other writers (maybe Freida McFadden) would do but I did feel that the characeterisation was still a little lacking, maybe Lisa Jewell would be slightly better. That said, I also felt that there shoudl've be slightly more attention given to the adam arc, which felt like it sprang out of nowhere and was a twist meant for a twist

The story, despite its multi-layered narrative, was communicated fairly clearly and I didn't have any issues following the characters despite reading this over several sittings. I felt sucked into the characters and felt like I wanted to root for the bad guys, and the ending compelled be enough to keep the pages turning. So I shan't be too hard on this despite some weaknessses, like being slightly too long
