Beastly Bones
by William Ritter
4.5*
Another fun installment! As a big Elementary fan, I love the male/female detective/protege relationship without any romantic involvement between Jackaby and Abagail. They are finding their stride as partners and I really like their development.
The story and mystery was even better than first book (I just read Jurassic Park so I’ve got dinos on the brain) and Hudson was a fun side character.
My biggest complaint, and the reason I couldn’t give this 5 stars, was that the book was just too short. It felt more like a novella and even though I was satisfied with how the mystery was solved and wrapped up, I was just wanting a story with a bit more meat. But I’m dying to read the next one so I think this book did it’s job!
