Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Lawrence
2.0
I didn't really enjoy this. There were some interesting thoughts on industrialisation, and a hilariously long passage about how beautiful her arse is, but a lot of the supposedly deep and meaningful musings just seemed pretentious and shallow to me, especially all the drivel about "real men" and "real women" - very irritating. I can see why it caused so much of a fuss at the time and could have been seen as empowering, but with modern eyes a lot of it just feels patronising.
