The Agathas by Liz Lawson, Kathleen Glasgow

5.0

My purpose in life from this moment on is to convince everyone to read this book.

The Agathas is officially my favorite book I’ve read this year, and I have no doubt that it will be in my top three at the end of the year. I had very high hopes going into this one, and it was everything I wanted and so much more.

I adored Alice and Iris, and I would read a hundred of their adventures together. Both of them, along with even the most minor characters, have so much depth that it feels like you’re reading about real people. The suspects are each well-developed, and the twists kept me jumping through theories and suspicions until the big reveal. The pacing of the story was excellent, and every moment was engaging and exciting.

What makes a favorite book for me is when I spend my time away from reading obsessively thinking about the story, and The Agathas had me utterly hooked from the first page.

I love this book wholeheartedly. I actually teared up while finishing it because I didn’t want it to end. I think Agatha Christie would be proud of Alice, and I will be counting the days until I have the next book in my hand.
