This book was somehow my least favorite despite me being the most curious about Silas’s healing journey. I raced through the first four books to see into his world, and it was honestly somewhat regrettable.
Coraline is a darling FMC. I think she speaks a lot of truth to those who have been victims and feel the weight of doubt and guilt. She is for sure for the Nesta girls, and she is raw and real. I think her inner dialogue is very realistic.
Silas is somehow so bland with a flat personality. He’s so quiet in the first four books and then becomes super chatty, and the explanation didn’t feel realistic. His character in this book is entirely different than the previous four, when I think the other boys really stuck out differently and remained themselves even in their own books. His intimacy scenes are honestly not my cup of tea, didn’t seem realistic, and Coraline’s personality seemed to melt away in them to just be the character he was intimate with rather than her own person.
His healing with Rosemary was very sweetly written and didn’t cause the cliché conflict that would be expected, and yet I feel as though none of Coraline’s conflict or trauma was addressed.
This entire series is in desperate need of an editor, really, for the spelling and grammar.
