I literally devoured this book in like seven hours. The other two were just okay and this one improved by leaps and bounds.
Mac still had a little bit of immaturity in the beginning. Also some of her reactions were very strange and unrealistic. She literally witnesses an entire family being murdered. Then gets up and is upset her heel broke off on her shoe. Like, priorities woman!
I was annoyed again that we still know nothing about Barron. Part of me thinks he may be the Unseelie King? But maybe I'm grasping at straws. I also became annoyed at his random violence whenever he started to feel emotions. Also his constant back and forth with Mac drove me crazy. One second you think he likes her and the next you're convinced he hates her.
V'lane was also strange in this book. He almost seemed to want to be dating Mac but it also felt like a ruse so he could use her.
I wanted to kill mac every time she thought about or did eat the Unseelie. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!?!
I honestly am not sure if both men are just using her. I mean she's human and both men are immortal. So I'm not sure how that would ever work out. I am grateful she mostly keeps her wits about her and realizes the men could be using her. She is not blinded by her desire for them.
I'm very grateful I thought ahead and checked the next book out with this one so I can jump right into it. Because boy that was one heavy cliffhanger.
