gailinva 's review for:
I'd give the first part 4 stars and the second part 2 stars. My 3 stars is an average. I felt that the second half of the book was bleaker in content and in writing. The first part just seemed better written to me.
I was struck by the fact that the journalists I rely on to untangle my confusion about the state of the world are often exhausted and more confused than me. At least this journalist was.
The highlight of this book for me is the relationship between the writer and her driver/investigator/translator/friend.
Worth the read especially part one.
