This book was more entertaining than the first 2. It was over 600 pages of Slate and Auren running around a castle.

❗️SPOILERS❗️

I’ll be honest I skimmed through some parts. Like queen Malina’s pov.

I was waiting to get really into this series. I mean there was more action in this novel. Also Auren and Slade finally get together. But it didn’t make this a spicy one, which it shouldn’t be considered one. This is a slowwww burn fantasy romance. Finally.

I’m glad Midas is dead and that Auren killed him. It’s tragic that he cut off her ribbons. Hey, at least Digby is alive.

Still, a majority of this novel was Auren struggling. Again. She’s finally facing the man who manipulated her for so long. Sure, I feel obligated to root for her. She’s so down in the dumps that it’s frustrating.

These first three novels feel very much the same. Minus the fact we see other character’s perspectives.
